Annette was born July 4, 1943, to parents Anton and Henrietta (Kolthoff) Hoekman in Sioux Falls. Her dad was serving in the Army, so her early years were spent in Monroe, Salina, Kan., and Los Angeles, Calif., before moving to Colton in 1945. She attended school in Colton and was baptized at the Colton Christian Reformed Church.
After some medical and psychological issues, Annette spent her remaining years in Michigan, Yankton and for the past 30 years in Watertown at a New Horizon’s group home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Edward and brother Harold.
She is survived by her brother, Glen (Sharon) Hoekman of Sioux Falls; her sisters, Elaine (Ray) Harakh of Vero Beach, Fla., and Lois (Grant) Aasen of Sioux Falls, three nieces and six nephews.
A private family service will be held later this spring when the family can gather.
