The community of Hartford had an early visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus when they kicked off their weekend by stopping by the Christmas at the Plaza on Friday. Grocott Ink & Thread and Backdoor Garden hosted Christmas at the Plaza on both Friday evening, November 19, and Saturday, November 20.
Although Santa and Mrs. Claus were not able to attend on Saturday, community members were still able to enjoy another day of light appetizers, door prizes and discounts.
The winners for the Backdoor Garden were:
Marlys Bartmann
Lynn Person
Julie Weber
Charyl Prunty
Jennifer Hoekman
Elizabeth Bartmann
Teresa Matthews
Lily Horn
Those that were drawn for door prizes get to stop by Backdoor Garden this week to claim their prize from an unmarked envelope with one grand prize of a $100 gift certificate to Backdoor Garden.
The door prizes for Grocott Ink & Thread went to winners George Ham and Julie Anderson.
“It was a nice turnout. It wasn’t overly busy as there were a lot of other things going on as well but it was steady and I was happy with it. It was a fun weekend,” Grocott Ink & Thread owner Lori Grocott said.
Rickie Kunzweiler, owner of Backdoor Garden, said, “I think it was a great weekend to have people come out and come in to celebrate the kick off to the holiday season.”
