National touring rock act Hairball will once again take the stage to cap off Humboldt’s Ribfest.

This popular band has a substantial following all across the United States. They use costumes, lights, effects, video screens and more to pay homage to such acts as Aerosmith, Van Halen, Prince, Cheap Trick and many other rock acts from the 70s and 80s. Their action-packed concerts draw a crowd, many of whom have attended numerous Hairball events.

Hairball brought in an audience of thousands to Humboldt’s inaugural Ribfest back in 2019. Unfortunately, the event was not held last year due to the COVID pandemic.

Main Street Ribfest will take place on Saturday, September 11, and rib sales are a fundraiser for the Humboldt Pink Ladies. The event begins with a Show and Shine car show from 2-4 pm. Participants can begin lining up at 1:30 on Main Street. There is no entry fee to bring your favorite car, truck or motorcycle; come park and enjoy the wide array of ribs served by area grill masters. Serving begins at 4 pm.

Anyone may enter the rib contest. First place winner will take home $400, second place will receive $300, third place $200 and fourth place will receive $100.

The evening caps off with a street dance beginning at 8:30 pm, with the Annabelle Band as the opener followed by the feature act Hairball.

Tickets can be purchased directly from the Main Street Humboldt Bar or from the website at mainstreethumboldtbar.com. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the gate.
