Judith A. VanderWal was born on July 18, 1944, in Volga on a farm. After high school she moved to Sioux Falls and went to Nettleton College. She worked at N.W. Bell Telephone Company in 1963 and retired in 1990. She later went on to work at Elmen Enterprises for eight years and then part time at The Gold Mine. She was a member of Community Reformed Church in Sioux Falls. Judi enjoyed reading, bowling, their lake home at Lake Madison and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all those who knew her. 

Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, Bill Rew of Sioux Falls; daughters, Jill (Ken) Egan of Bridgewater and Jodi (Travis) Johnson of Sioux Falls; stepdaughters, Lori (Shannon) Schell of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Fla., Danelle Rew of Davie, Fla.; stepson, Andy (Susi) Rew of Hartford; her sisters, Jan (Gary) Rames of Sioux Falls and Linda VanderWal of Council Bluff, Iowa; sister-in-law, Karen VanderWal of Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Jocelyn Egan, Jonah Egan, Kelsey Johnson and Austin Johnson; step-grandchildren, Paige (Stephen) Walker and Taylor Shell; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Liliahna, Ayden and Reagan; and a host of additional relatives and friends.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Arie and Jessie (Bruinsma) VanderWal and her brother, Wayne VanderWal.

Funeral services were held March 18 at Community Reformed Church in Sioux Falls. Please consider a donation to Breast Cancer Awareness.
