Tommy Wayne Garner, son of William and Mildred (Jurczwesky) Garner, was born September 20, 1955, in Sioux Falls. He grew up there and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973.

After high school, Tom met Betty Henry through mutual friends. They were united in marriage on July 3, 1975, in Tyndall. Tom and Betty shared 44 wonderful years together and were blessed with three children and two grandchildren.

Tom started working at Midwest Coast Transport in December of 1975. He worked as a truck and trailer maintenance supervisor until the time of his death.

Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and the great outdoors. He was a big fan of NASCAR racing. A highlight in his life was going to the Daytona 500. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed many trips to Lambeau Field with his wife and family. Tom also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Betty; three children, Beau Garner, Sioux Falls, Adam Garner and his wife, Michelle, Renner, Cassie Garner, Knoxville, Tenn; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abigail Garner; his father, Bill Garner; three siblings, Deborah (Mike) Maschino, Sioux Falls, Jeffrey (Kimm) Garner, Crooks, Randy Garner (Tara), San Antonio, Texas, and many other relatives and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred and an infant brother, Terry.

Memorial services were held Thursday, July 2, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls.
