Tri-Valley school board held a special meeting on Tuesday, October 6, to discuss the continued topic of COVID.
The administrative recommendation for mask requirement did not pass. However, a motion was passed by the school board that stated, “Close contacts can remain in school for the 14-day quarantine period as long as extra mitigation efforts are made (wear a mask).”
This means if a student is considered close contact, they can remain in school as long as they do not exhibit any symptoms and wear a mask.
At this time, mask usage is not required prior to exposure; it will just be required for the 14-day “quarantine” period. There was also a motion to clarify that students will still be required to wear masks on school buses.
