The West Central Music Department held its Pops Concert on Saturday, May 1. The performances of the evening featured the Middle School Jazz Band, directed by Samantha Meirose; Swing Choir and Concert Choir, directed by Laurie Gratz; High School Band and Drumline, directed by Danny Eye; and Winter Guard, advised by Candice Nelson. Wanda VandeVooren accompanied on piano and student, Kennith Rolfson accompanied on guitar.
Senior Peter Nester was awarded the Mike Fullenkamp Memorial Scholarship and a $500 scholarship from the West Central Music Association. Senior Kendra Johnson was also awarded a $500 scholarship from the West Central Music Association.
The Pops Concert is a fundraiser for the West Central Music Department by the West Central Music Association. Funds have gone toward the purchases of risers, amplifiers, sweatshirts, meals, props, instruments, color guard equipment, clinics, scholarships, and opportunities for music-related camps.
