On July 31, tragedy hit on I-90 that forever changed a family’s life. Drew and Jennifer Hoefert and their oldest daughter, 15-year-old Abby Vitek, were killed in a car accident when they were traveling to visit Idaho. Their other children, Blayre (8) and Cooper (2) were hospitalized with serious injuries. Blayre has since been discharged from the hospital and Cooper is now breathing on his own.
Family friends have joined forces to put together a fundraiser to help offset expenses for the Hoeferts. The Hoefert Family Benefit will take place on August 21 from 1-5 pm at 106 N. Western, Suite A in Hartford. This will be a free-will donation smoked pork loin dinner with the option of dine in or carry out.
The family members hosting the benefit have explained they have received several donations already in order to put on the benefit. Some donations already received include:
-pork loin for the meal
-$100 towards anything needed
-Raffle item – Traeger grill
-Raffle item – One night stay at a lodge in Rapid City
-Metal detector kit
-Many gift cards and other items that will be put into baskets for additional raffle items
The benefit will include gift basket raffles, 50/50 drawings, bake sales and more!
