Floyd Tullar, 77, of Sioux Falls passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Sandford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 21 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. Visitation with family present was held prior to the service.
Floyd Tullar, son of Leslie and Nellie (Eichmeier) Tullar was born October 31, 1945, at Perry Township near Lennox. Floyd was active in 4-H in his youth carried that through to adulthood. He served in many capacities including group leader, president and other roles. He graduated from Lennox High School in 1963. He served in the United State Army in Germany until earning his Honorable Discharge in 1966. He was united in marriage to Annette Dahme and they were blessed with two children, Les and Laura. He later served as a Police Officer with the city of Sioux Falls, retiring as a Captain after 27 years of service. In his free time, he loved being outdoors including time spent hunting, fishing, hobby farming and gardening. He also loved watching NASCAR and cheering on the Earnhardt’s.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Les, Sioux Falls; daughter, Laura Smykle, Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Cohen White (Tullar), Parker Smykle, Elizabeth Smykle and Ayden Smykle; sister, Faye (Craig) Seiders; sister-in-law, Marlene Tullar, Orange City, IA; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Tullar; sisters, Fran Tullar and Faith Tullar in infancy.
