The Hartford Area Fire and Rescue (HAFR) held their annual free-will donation pancake feed on Sunday, May 16, with a great turnout, according to Fire Chief Matt Horn. The funds raised from the pancake feed will go toward purchasing communication equipment.
Due to COVID-19, HAFR made adjustments to the pancake feed to ensure anyone that still wanted to participate had the ability to do that. One of those adjustments was adding the carryout feature to the pancake feed. Although HAFR did have that option this year, Chief Horn said most community members still chose to dine in to enjoy their breakfast.
Approximately 900 people attended the pancake feed on Sunday morning, Chief Horn said. Those that ate at the breakfast got to feast on pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, cheesy potatoes, coffee and juice.
Chief Horn said, “We had a great turnout. We would just like to thank the community for their generous support.”
