Recently it was announced that Hegg Realtors® was acquired by Edina Realty, a HomeServices of America company. Currently out of Minnesota and western Wisconsin, Edina Realty decided to expand into South Dakota with the investment of Hegg Realtors.
Dave Larson of Dave & Co. Real Eastate Team, Hegg Realtors, has expressed his excitement with the news. “It is an exciting opportunity for us at Hegg Realtors for the fact that nothing will be changing to include our brand, staff and leadership,” Larson said. Edina Realty Expands To South Dakota; Acquires Hegg Realtors® with 200 Additional Agents
Together, the companies have 2,500 agents with over $12 billion in home sales volume in 2021
EDINA, MN – Edina Realty, a HomeServices of America company and the largest residential real estate firm in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, today announced its expansion into South Dakota with the acquisition of Hegg Realtors, the top real estate company in that state, headquartered in Sioux Falls.
In 2021, Hegg Realtors had $1.22 billion in sales volume and nearly 4,000 units sold. Edina Realty earned $10.8 billion in sales and nearly 30,000 closed sales and has been the dominant residential real estate leader in Minnesota and western Wisconsin for 22 consecutive years, including 2021.
Hegg Realtors was founded in 1945 as a brokerage specializing in farmland sales and residential real estate. Under the leadership of Chairman Bill Hegg and Chief Executive Officer Gregg Gohl, Hegg Realtors has led the South Dakota real estate market for 77 years.
