The teachers at the Humboldt Elementary School will get to smile a little brighter today while enjoying some treats on their break thanks to the William H Crippen 62 American Legion Auxiliary in Humboldt.
Elise Baye, Auxiliary member, explained during their last meeting they discussed doing something nice for the teachers in Humboldt for Teacher Appreciation Week which was May 3-7.
“Well, we discussed at our meeting something fun to do for our teachers, especially over this past year,” Baye said. She continued, “It hasn’t been easy for them this past year. I know they have treats on Fridays and we were talking with teachers and they said teachers really like chocolates!”
That settled it, chocolate it would be for the teachers. The Auxiliary group had a display of candy bars with little sayings to go with each one of them to show the teachers their appreciation.
Having you at school is a real JOY!
Just “CHOC” up another great year!
It is great how you always come through in a CRUNCH!
What a LIFESAVER you are!
You are worth a MINT!
As a teacher you are OUT of this WORLD!
You are worth more than a “Grand” to our school!
You are like a shining “Star” to our school!
Don’t SNICKER when we tell you how much your dedication means to our school.
When it comes to being an educator, you never drop the ball!
Humboldt Elementary teacher Greg Anderson said, “It is great to see the many different ways local businesses and organizations like the Humboldt Auxiliary support our school. Their gift was a thoughtful way to express their gratitude.” He continued, “We all really appreciate the time and effort they take to show their appreciation for us.”
Shelby Harris, Humboldt Elementary teacher, said, Thank you so much for the recognition from the Auxiliary group! It’s an honor to be recognized by the community and a pleasure to spend every day with your children!”
Baye added, “I know some people are doing things all through the week for teacher appreciation week but we decided just to do it for Friday.” She concluded, “I just think our teachers extend so much into our community. We are just one organization in our community but we just want to show our teachers how much we care.
