The students in Mrs. Spielmann’s second-grade class were treated to a Mystery Reader on Read Across America Day, Monday, March 2. Our Mystery Reader was Mrs. Johnson. We enjoyed listening to the book, “I Can Read With My Eyes Shut,” by Dr. Seuss. In this book, we learned that the more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go. Dr. Seuss celebrates the joys of reading, encouraging young children to take pride in their budding reading abilities. It gives students ideas about many different reading genres. It teaches students that they can be a part of many adventures through reading. Thanks for reading such a great book to us. We really enjoyed it! The students enjoy having Mystery Readers come into our classroom and also inviting readers strengthens the connection that is so important in helping students grow as readers! We learn so much from each Mystery Reader! Also, thank you for coming to help us celebrate such an important day. We all know it is so important to read every day. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Great job, Mrs. Johnson!
