Ronald J. Beaner passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Sanford USD Medical Center.
Ron was born on August 29, 1947, in Sioux Falls to August Beaner and LaVera (Hinrichs) Beaner. He graduated from Humboldt High School in 1966. He served in the United States Air Force from January of 1967 to September 1970.
On February 12, 1972, Ron was united in marriage to Joann Zeeb at Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls. The couple established their homestead in Sioux Falls. Ron started his career at Morrell’s for 17 years before attending Pipestone Vo-Tech school for meat cutting. Then upon completion working various jobs before taking ownership of Looks Meats Market in 1994 to 1997. He officially retired from working in 2011 and then helped with Joann’s daycare until 2020 when they both officially retired. Ron and the kids all loved each other equally.
Ron was a faithful and longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, reading and hosting the neighborhood get togethers. He was a natural handyman. Above all, Ron cherished all the time he could spend with his family and loved having his grandkids fight over who was “grandpa’s favorite”.
Ron is survived by his wife Joann; his children Julie Oxner, Ranae (Scott) Kultman, Jen (Loren) Bevers, and Rob (Tiffany) Beaner; 15 grandchildren Austin, Chais (McKenzie), MacKenzie, Alexis, Brent, Abigail, KayleeAnn, Hadley, Ethan, Rylan, Owen, Harper, Misun and Immanuel. He is also survived by his sisters Jean Berens of Colorado, Patty (Donnie) Ideker of Humboldt, Mary (Stan) Garry of Colton, sisters-in-law Jane Beaner of Minnesota and Barb (Don) Knittel of Freeman and many additional nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents August and LaVera Beaner; sister- and brother-in-law Margaret and Noel Green, brother Raymond Beaner, sister Constance Wright and sister- and brother-in-law Joyce and Charlie Kadinger.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, March 1, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Jordan Sampson officiating.
Private family burial was at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Sioux Falls. Military Honors was conducted at the burial. Active Pallbearers were Dean Ideker, Darrin Garry, Matt Mossefin, David, Beaner, Kelly Knittel, Paul Ideker, Rick Berens and Tom Broadbent. Honorary pallbearers were all of Ron’s grandchildren.
