The Tri-Valley third grade students recently read about the Statue of Liberty in their reading textbook, learning about the history of the Statue of Liberty, how and when it was built and other interesting facts about it, according to their teacher Mrs. Marcia Berkness.
During this lesson, her students were also able take a virtual tour of the Statue of Liberty on their chrome books, Mrs. Berkness explained.
Once the lesson was completed, her students followed directions from a YouTube video on how to draw the Statue of Liberty, making small torches using empty toilet paper rolls and colored construction paper. “Students enjoyed learning about the famous statue!” Mrs. Berkness explained.
