The West Central Middle School TATU group has spent the 2020-2021 school year educating peers on the dangers and health effects of tobacco use and vaping.
TATU stands for Teens Against Tobacco Use.
The group of 20 students has designed bulletin boards, created a scavenger hunt game, made videos for elementary students, and participated in a living billboard.  To create the living billboard, students researched and chose quotes from tobacco companies that targeted youth, took pictures with them, and displayed them poster-sized in the middle school hallway.
This is the first year for a middle school TATU group at West Central.  The group is advised by West Central’s Prevention Couselor, Kristi VanDeRostyne.
