A benefit was held on Saturday, October 2, for Alex and Ashley Osborne of Humboldt, who tragically lost their daughter, Violet, in September.
The benefit was held at Big J’s in Humboldt and included a meal, a silent auction and raffles.
As a member of the Humboldt Fire and Ambulance crew, benefit organizer, Dave Froke, has plenty of experience planning events. He helps plan the Humboldt Fire and Ambulance fundraiser every year, which takes several months of preparation. The Osbornes’ benefit was planned in just three short weeks, and was packed with donations and volunteers. Bidding tables were filled with a variety of unique items such as a handmade quilt, car care kits, gift cards, loaded prize baskets from local businesses, a South African hunting safari, and many more donations.
“We are thankful for our community, friends and family that all came to support Ashley and Alex,” said Froke. He concluded, “It was a great time and the family is very appreciative for the support and compassion the community has given them.”
