Rylee Crawley, daughter of Brad and Cari, is a freshman at the West Central High School who has recently completed the Silver Award as a Cadette through Girl Scouts. Crawley has been in Girl Scouts since kindergarten and is now an Ambassador with Troop 40281.
For her Silver Award, Crawley built a free little library to be located in the community of Hartford. She worked with Craig Wagner, Hartford’s Public Works Superintendent, to receive permission for placement of her library which is currently located in the Hartford City Park by the playground, Crawley’s mom, Cari explained. Crawley also assisted with the installation of the library in the park.
C. Crawley further explained although this project was recently completed, Crawley will receive her award in 2022 at the next Awards ceremony.
According to Crawley, the supplies were donated by and purchased from the Hartford Building Center and The Knotty Gnome. In addition, Crawley received assistance with planning and building the library from her family and Devon Howard.
Crawley explained this award is about helping her community without excepting anything in return while sharing her love of books.
