For the third year in a row, the Crooks Fire Department (CFD) is going to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday by hosting a dueling piano show featuring the Dueling Duo on Wednesday, November 24.
The event will be held at the Crooks Community Center and run from 7 pm to approximately 11 pm, with doors opening at 6, according to CFD Volunteer Firefighter Chad Moller.
For those interested in attending, Moller explained there are single tickets for $30 a person or one can get tickets for a reserved table. A reserved table is for eight and in addition to the table, eight drink tickets are included. The reserved tables are for $300 and there are currently two reserved tables left along with approximately 25 single tickets for the event.
If one doesn’t get tickets ahead of time, tickets can be purchased at the event, depending on availability. Moller explained it’s best to call to reserve your tickets before the day of the event as the event has sold out the past two years.
This fundraiser is put on to help with expenses such as equipment for the CFD, according to Moller. “We are constantly training and purchasing the best equipment so we can afford to serve the community. This life saving equipment comes at a hefty price tag,” Moller said. He continued, “However, we are very fortunate to have the community support that we receive. Without that support we would not be able to do what we do.”
The proceeds from this fundraising event are earmarked for an updated AED machine that has the ability to monitor the patients’ vitals and communicate the information with the ambulance service in route, explained Moller. “When every second matters this updated machine can make all the difference in the outcome.”
For those looking to reserve tickets in advance, please call Chad Moller at 605-366-8994 or speak with any CFD Volunteer Firefighter.
Moller concluded, “This is one (fundraiser) of the department’s most fun events we host and look forward to it ever year.”
