With the holidays upon us, the Central Valley Struttin’ Gobblers (CVSG), a local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, contributed its annual donation towards the Humboldt Food Pantry. This past week the CVSG invested in 20 turkeys for those area people in need. Initiated as part of the Turkey Hunting Care Program, Pantry Director, Deb Schumacher said, “The chapter has made like-kind donations for a number of years which has been forwarded to nearly 100 families over the years. The CVSG’s contribution(s) has been a key part of our holiday giving.” These gifts were made possible by Chairman Greg Boddicker and numerous chapter fundraisers throughout 2020. The largest share coming from the chapter’s Hunting Heritage Banquet held on Sept. 12, 2020.

As in years past, the Hartford/Humboldt based chapter traditionally honors some of the outstanding individuals whose contributions has made this banquet one of the most successful medium sized events in the state. The volunteer-based organization specializes in conservations-based programs that target persons of all ages and monetary assists towards sustaining of wildlife habitat. The Volunteer(s) & Sponsor of the years are as follows:

  * 2020 Volunteer(s) of the Year – Sandy & Mark Winter
