Despite COVID, the residents of Leisure Living Independent and Assisted Living of Hartford continue to get to see their family but with a few changes.

Administrator of Leisure Living Tonya Ahrendt said, “The priority of Leisure Living is to protect our residents. We have all seen what happens in a facility like ours if the virus enters.” She continued, “We know that it is good for our residents to see their family members and we understand the frustration of visitation rules and guidelines but it is for the safety of our residents.”

Ahrendt indicated there are special visiting hours for visitors to come see their loved ones. In addition to special hours, visitors are screened, where a face mask and use hand sanitizer while they are in the building. Ahrendt further explained that Leisure Living also has a specific room that is used for the visits. It is set up with chairs for the residents and their family, includes a room divider and is sanitized after each visit. This allows residents and visitors to see each other in a safe environment.
