Community members of Humboldt were able to take in Humboldt’s Annual Turkey Day Celebration on Saturday, November 20.
The event took place from 11 am to 1 pm with soup and pie being served by the American Legion Auxiliary. For those community members that purchased a meal, a turkey certificate was given to put towards a holiday turkey. The event had some turkeys available on Saturday and for those that did not receive a turkey during the event, the certificate can be redeemed at Sunshine Foods in Hartford.
After feasting on soup and pie, attendees could visit various venders that were available to get some holiday shopping done.
Kristie Ellis, Humboldt Finance Officer, said, “We were very pleased with the huge turn out and the fall décor on the table made the event very festive. The vendors were great. The soup and pie from the Auxiliary was amazing.” She continued, “We gave out over 100 turkey certificates, we had door prizes and the American Legion had drawings as well. It accented “The Small Town with a Big Heart”.
