August 12

Worthing

Lisa was born on November 19, 1975, at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, to Elmer and Cornelia (Kuhl) Stratmeyer. She attended United Baptist in Sioux Falls and in later years obtained a GED. After attending high school, Lisa married Patrick Toft, the father to her twin daughters, Abigail and Samantha Toft, separating a few years later. On July 24, 2010, Lisa was united in marriage with Nathan Buckneberg at the Lake Side Golf Course, Wentworth. She and her daughters became an integral part of the Buckneberg family.

As she made her way through life, Lisa had a successful career and had many achievements. She became a manager at Qwest, a Certified Appraiser, and recently a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Cigna. She was working on a business management degree focused on health care.

Lisa enjoyed the outdoors, from flowers to the smallest mouse. She enjoyed trips with family and the ocean. She loved watching movies and favorite shows with friends and family. She enjoyed fresh tomatoes with a little bit of salt. She loved family get togethers, whether for holidays or just a weekend dinner. She enjoyed watching storms roll in, the snow fall, comets, eclipses, meteor showers, and the northern lights. She enjoyed playing and cuddling with her four cats. She also had a kind heart along with a sharp tongue. She displayed the uncanny ability to touch everyone that she encountered. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, Nathan Buckneberg of Worthing; daughters, Abigail and Samantha Toft of Worthing; her parents, Elmer and Cornelia Stratmeyer of Tea; siblings, Jeffrey (Angie) Stratmeyer of Hartford, Sherry (Jeff) Van’t Hof of Elk Point, Michael Stratmeyer of Tea, Tonya Miller of Chancellor, Marc Stratmeyer of Tea; nephews, Brandon and Jordan; niece, Aubrie, and many other relatives and friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jacob and Etta Stratmeyer, and cousin, Eric Buckneberg.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 18, at Celebrate Community Church in Sioux Falls.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the family for future designation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
