Lloyd was born July 23, 1931 to Ferdinand and Mary (Ramses) Stubsten in rural Renner. Lloyd farmed in the Colton and Crooks area for many years. He later moved to Sioux Falls and worked as a driver for Sweetman Construction for 23 years until retiring in 1992. Lloyd was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
Lloyd loved bingo, country music and watching westerns. He created fond memories with family on holidays out at the farm. Lloyd enjoyed spending time by himself, but would rarely turn down an opportunity to get ice cream. He enjoyed trips to B&G Milkyway and to drive around and see how much Sioux Falls changed over the years.
Grateful to have shared his life with him are his nieces and nephews Carolyn Mittendorf, Larry (Karen) Reit, Loren (Denise) Reit, Kevin (Jayne) Reit, Royce (Marian) Reit, Judy (Wayne) Ford and Craig (Deb) Snelling.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ferdinand and Mary Stubsten; his brother Ferdy Stubsten; his sisters Sanna (Richard) Reit and Norma (Ed) Bergin; and nephews Dave Reit and Richard Reit.
A funeral service was held for Lloyd at Miller Funeral Home Southside Chapel on Friday, March 19.
