SIOUX FALLS – The Minnehaha County Auditor’s Office is seeking 25 registered voters to serve as Precinct Deputies, and 100 registered voters to serve on the Absentee Ballot Board on Tuesday, June 2 for the Joint Primary/City/School Election.

Precinct Deputies are paid $195.00 and Absentee Ballot Board Members are paid $12.50 per hour. Precinct Deputies will serve on an Election Board that manages voting at a polling location on Election Day. Tasks include checking voters in, providing ballots, and facilitating a safe voting experience. Deputies are expected to serve at their assigned polling place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. An additional time commitment is required for training, polling place set-up, and closing the polls.

Absentee Ballot Board Members are asked to report to the Siouxland Heritage Museum at 8:30 a.m. on Election Day for training followed immediately by absentee ballot processing. This election year will see a record number of absentee ballots processed and the workers are needed to process them throughout the day for tabulation. Certain Absentee Board members may be asked to work up to 7 p.m.

Safety and sanitation measures will be implemented in both jobs.
