Sharon Lee Aubert Konop Finch was born on February 12, 1937, to Ida and Marvin Aubert in Pierce, Neb., and was raised in Colome.
Sharon was a devoted mother and grandmother and much of her joy came from spending time with her family. She was a dedicated young stay-at-home mother to her three oldest children, Vicki, Chad and Dawn, and later to her youngest son Fred, Jr. Her actions overflowed with the love she had for her children. One could hear the laughter and love in her voice when telling stories of caring for grandchildren, Gregory and Wyatt. She cherished her annual trips to Florida with son, Chad, daughter-in-law Jan, granddaughter Mandy, and great-grandchildren Sean and Brenden.
In addition to her family devotions, Sharon enjoyed dancing and listening to country western music with her loving husband, Fred, Sr., and her pets held a special place in her heart. She loved her dogs completely, putting special care and attention into meal prep for her beloved dog, Puff. Sharon was also a hard worker. She worked proudly in the upscale restaurant at Marshall Fields for many years before finishing her working career in food service at Memorial Middle School in Sioux Falls where the children, her co-workers and friends brought her joy each day.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Ida and Marvin; her siblings, DeLaine Kuestermeyer, Constance, Betty and Jerry Aubert; her daughter, Dawn Williams; stepson, Gregory Finch; and her former husband, Arnold (father of Vicki, Chad and Dawn). She is survived by husband, Fred Finch Sr.; daughter Vicki (Deane) Finch; sons Chad (Jan) Konop, and Fred Finch, Jr.; stepchildren, Brian Finch, Reed (Tonna) Finch, Jeff Finch, and Jodi Rozell; brother Raymond Aubert; 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
A celebration of Sharon’s life was held Saturday, August 29, at George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon. Memorial donations may be made in Sharon’s name to the Sioux Falls Humane Society, sfhumanesociety.com, or 3720 E. Benson Rd., Sioux Falls, SD 57104.
