After a year of limitations with COVID-19, the Tri-Valley Mustangs are gearing up for the 2021 homecoming week which kicks off Monday, September 7, with a theme of TV @ TV meaning television at Tri-Valley.
According to Tri-Valley Student Council Advisor Amber Fluth, the student council came up with dress up days to celebrate the homecoming week which will be Tuesday through Thursday, with the best dressed competition for the high school students each day.
In addition to dress up days, there will be a day of fun for the students on Friday with activities including things like powder puff football, volleyball, bean bags and Wii sports tournament, along with tug of war, students vs. teachers volleyball, pep rallies, a Homecoming dance and teacher sundae.
According to Fluth, she thinks the students are ready for a more “normal” year this year with less restrictions from last year with COVID-19. “Last year we focused on moving students through activities and keeping them within their advisory group,” Fluth said. She continued, “This year we are focused on offering more options to students to allow the students to spread out but still have a choice over what they’re participating in. I think the students are excited about homecoming being more “normal” and “traditional” this year.”
