The West Central Hartford Elementary School celebrated Veteran’s Day by hosting a drive by parade for veterans and families. This was held on Thursday, November 11th at 2 pm with students and staff from the elementary lined up to recognize and celebrate community veterans.
According to Administrative Assistant Pam Graham, there were 40 cars of veterans in the Veteran’s Day Parade. The parade was led by the Hartford American Legion with the flags and the students of the elementary were waving the American flag as the veterans drove through the parade.
Graham explained the Hartford Elementary School also had a presentation on the American flag which was done by Erik Edberg, Don Kranz, Jerry Price and Stan Beckstrom. The students were educated on how to fold the flag and the meaning of each fold. The guest speakers also speak about what it means and what it is like to be in the military.
