West Central High School performing arts students are preparing for the annual Fine Arts Showcase to be held Tuesday, January 18, at 7 pm at West Central High School.
The Fine Arts Showcase is held each year in January. “It gives the students with some artistic skills a chance to show off that they might not otherwise get,” commented Theater Arts advisor/drama director, Josh Freier. Performances will include musical instrument solos, vocal solos, dance solos and pieces from the Oral Interp season.
This year’s showcase will bookend the first half with the All-State Chorus and Reader’s Theater for Oral Interp. “I personally like it because this is a chance for me to see these pieces,” Freier said. The first half of the show features this variety of student pieces and following intermission, the one-act play students perform their play. “This is a good way for family and friends to see the one-act and it also gives the actors a practice run before their Regions performance,” added Freier.
