In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ Read Across America Day, World Book Day, and Character Book Dress-Up Day, the students in Mrs. Spielmann’s second-grade classroom, dressed up as their favorite characters from a book. This was more than just a “dress-up” day.

The children discussed their favorite book and why they chose the character that they portrayed. This special day helped to focus everyone’s attention on the importance of reading, and the role that books play in all of our lives. This activity also helped the students really connect with reading. We were also very fortunate to have several special guest readers throughout the day! Pictured are the second graders as their favorite characters along with their favorite books! Great job!
