When spring comes, some think of spring clean-up and that time has come in the City of Crooks.
According to City of Crooks Director of Operations Chad Rezac, for at least 10 years, the City of Crooks has been holding their City of Crooks Spring Yard Waste Drop Off weekend and that time is here again.

What is this event, you might ask?
Residents only of the City of Crooks can drop off their spring waste at New Hope Park on Saturday April 17, from 9 am-5 pm and again on Sunday, April 18, from 1 pm-5 pm.

In order to drop off your waste at New Hope Park, your waste must be separated as follows:
Grass and leaves
Branches and garden waste
Please be sure to empty your plastic bags at the site.

Sweeney Sanitation will also be onsite Saturday, April 17, from 9 am-5pm for anyone looking to dispose of other items. They will be taking the following items:
Stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, dishwashers, hot water heaters, barbeque grills (no propane tanks) and used batteries (car, truck, lawnmower)
The City of Crooks started sponsoring the clean-up events after the City Council passed ordinance 151 that banned open burning in the municipality of Crooks, according to Rezac.
Mark your calendar and don’t miss out on your opportunity to get rid of your waste! According to Rezac, the event is only held one weekend in the spring and again in the fall for one weekend only.
