Charity Stephenson was born on March 3, 1975, to Judy and David Stephenson in Brownwood, Texas. She attended school in Coleman, Texas and Novice, Texas. In 1990, Charity moved to South Dakota with her mother, stepfather (Dan Lynde) and grandmother (Annie B). She attended West Central High School in Hartford and graduated in 1993.
On March 12, 1992, she met her high school sweetheart Jesse Ahlquist. During their 29 years together, they were blessed with three children and a granddaughter. Charity was very proud of her family.
Early in life, Charity lost her father to cancer and was raised by her mother and grandmother Annie B who everyone knew as Maw-Maw. Later on, she was able to find her biological father (William Isbell) and her siblings (Tina Carpenter, Willie Isbell, Alex Isbell, and Derrick Monroe). Charity was looking forward to finally meeting them this summer.
Spending time with family was what Charity loved most. Her favorites included going to Dairy Queen and Milky Way for shakes and slush whips, as well as sharing cotton candy with her fur-babies Turbo, Tiny, Jasmine, Spook and Moana. Charity loved making fried potatoes and okra and grilling steak and potatoes with Jesse.
Charity will be deeply missed by her family, friends and fur-babies. She is survived by her love, Jesse Ahlquist, of Sioux Falls; son, Taylor (Tori) Ahlquist of Sioux Falls; daughters, Courtney Ahlquist (Andy DeSmet) of Sioux Falls and Chelsea Ahlquist of Sioux Falls; granddaughter Nala Ahlquist of Sioux Falls; siblings Tina (Greg) Carpenter of Coleman, Texas; Alex Isbell of Commanche, Texas, Willie (Heather) Isbell of Brownwood, Texas.
