Cynthia Ann Stahlecker was born January 12, 1952, to Marvin and Delores (Zeitner) Stahlecker at Lynch, Neb. She grew up in Spencer, Neb., where she received her education graduating from Spencer High School in 1970. Following high school, she attended a year of college at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

On June 26, 1971, she was united in marriage with Calvin Krueger at Spencer. Following their marriage, they lived in Iowa, Missouri and Illinois, before moving to Sioux Falls in 1978. Cindy worked at various jobs throughout her adult life after taking time to raise her family. She most recently worked at Josten Concrete Products in Sioux Falls. She retired from Josten’s after 25 years of service.

Cindy greeted everyone with a warm smile and a big hug. Her kindness was known to all; she lived her life with the goal of making others happy.

Cindy loved spending time with her husband of almost 50 years and all of her extended family. She traveled all over the country visiting friends and family, camping, hiking and enjoying life to the fullest. She enjoyed several different hobbies – gardening, quilting, scrapbooking, biking and had an amazing green thumb for countless house plants. She loved going to crafting retreats twice each year with her daughter, sister-in-law and nieces, and going to her Coffee Quilters group each month. Over the years she was in several different card clubs with wonderful friends. She also made great friends going to weekly WW meetings with her husband. Earlier in her life, she also accomplished the rare achievement of becoming a black belt in Shotokan Karate.

Many will remember Cindy for her love of coffee, coffee cups and her annual Christmas Coffee. She made the best sugar cookies and opened her home to all to share her love for Christmas, Christmas cookies and coffee. Her home was decorated in every room, and she jokingly had a Christmas tree for every grandchild she had.

To summarize her life, it can simply be stated in two words: She Loved.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Calvin “Cal” Krueger of Sioux Falls; her children, Charles W. Krueger of Whitehouse, Ohio, and Heidi Lynn (Lee) Loof of Hartford; 10 grandchildren, August Meyer, Leonard “Leo” Meyer, Kaylee Loof, Adelynn Loof, Stone Calvin Loof, West Hamilton, Delaney Krueger, Lilly Krueger, Cash Krueger and Ckix Krueger; her mother, Delores Stahlecker of Stuart, Neb.; her siblings, Glen (Judy) Stahlecker of Spencer, Neb., Doug (Jan) Stahlecker of Battle Creek, Neb., Randy (Sharon) Stahlecker of Alma, Neb., David (Sue) Stahlecker of Pocatello, Idaho, Rex (Tracy) Stahlecker of Norfolk, Neb., Joe (Jenny) Stahlecker of Spencer, Neb., Lorena (Dale) Riha of Stuart, Neb.; and her sister-in-law, Sally Stahlecker of Norfolk, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Stahlecker; her daughter, Maria Louise Krueger-Meyer and her brothers, Russell Stahlecker and Tyler Stahlecker.

Funeral mass was held November 17 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sioux Falls. Interment will be in the Hartford City Cemetery.
