The students in Mrs. Spielmann’s second grade class were introduced to Community Building with a straw activity. Each group was given 40 straws and a roll of masking tape. They were instructed to build the tallest, FREE-STANDING structure and they could use only straws and tape. They could not anchor their structure to a desk….
