David Mausbach, 61, of Hartford passed away on June 24, 2024, at home unexpectedly of natural causes. Funeral services was held at 11 am on Friday, June 28 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hartford. Visitation with family present was held from 5 – 7 pm on Thursday, also at the church.
David Gerald Mausbach was born January 8, 1963, to Gerald and Marilyn (Stover) Mausbach in Huron, SD. He graduated from Huron High School. Dave worked at First Premier Bank until 2012, when he bought and operated Spike’s Bar and Grill in Hartford. He sold this in 2015 and went on to work as an accountant for Music Services. Dave married Laura Schmitz in January of 2000, gaining two “bonus daughters”, Ashli and Angie. Dave and Laura had two girls of their own, Abbi in 2001 and Arri in 2003, who were his absolute pride and joy.
Dave was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved anything sports related, including golf, Nascar racing, Thunder Valley Drag racing, and Husker and SDSU sports. He was a very social person and enjoyed hanging out with his friends.
Dave is survived by: his daughters, Abbi Mausbach (Cody Vaselaar) of Sioux Falls, Arri Mausbach (Wesley Nelson) of Humboldt, Ashli (Joe) O’Kane of Hartford and Angie (Chris) Graff of Hartford; grandkids, Landon, Bennett, Gavin and Morgan O’Kane and Brecken, Harper and Suttyn Graff; mother, Marilyn Sanders of Houston, TX, sister, Brenda Olmsted of Fairfield, CA; aunt, Judy Stover of Houston, TX; niece, Lindsay (Justin) Welsh; and his beloved cat, Jynx.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald and uncle, Harold “Jim” Stover.
