The Humboldt Fire and Ambulance has been working towards the purchase of a new ambulance and the Buffalo Ridge Brewing Project decided to assist in the fundraising efforts.

On Saturday, March 6, the Buffalo Ridge Brewing Project had their Saturday Craft Beers and BINGO with Dave and Amy Larson of Dave & Co. Real Estate Team, Hegg Realtors as caller with the proceeds going to the Humboldt Fire and Ambulance.

Susan Shumaker, full time paramedic and officer with the Humboldt Fire and Rescue, explained that they have had to change their fundraising last year and this year due to COVID-19 so they were thankful for the opportunity.

Amy Larson of Dave & Co. said, “BINGO at the brewery is always so much fun. I love that the money raised benefits local organizations. It’s amazing how a game as simple as BINGO can bring people together.” She continued, “One of my favorite parts is that people of all ages get to come and enjoy time together. It was fun to look out and see all the different groups participating. I can’t wait to hear how much money was raised to help pay for the Humboldt Ambulance!”

Owner of Buffalo Ridge Brewing Project Callie Tuschen said they were able to raise $1565 from the BINGO event for the organization.

Shumaker explained they will also be doing a fundraiser in April to help with the cost of the ambulance. In years past, the fundraiser would include four-wheelers or lawnmowers for prizes and a meal. Although they are unable to do their normal fundraiser, this will be a straight cash prize fundraiser on April 18.

“With COVID-19, we aren’t sure if people would come with everything still going on so we are just doing this cash raffle. We aren’t having a dinner with it,” Shumaker said.

The prizes for the fundraiser are:

1st place – $5,000 cash

2nd place – $2,000 cash

3rd place – $1,000 cash

Shumaker verified that you do not need to be present to win and even though there is not a dinner with this fundraiser, Shumaker said they are hopeful in the spring or early summer, if things settle down, they might have a brunch or other event when the ambulance comes in.

Tickets are $100 a piece and can be purchased by contacting any personnel of the Humboldt Fire and Rescue or calling their office at 605-363-3100.
