Jeff Daniel Pressler, age 52, of Sioux Falls, peacefully passed at Sanford Medical Center on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Son of Daniel “Dan” and Marsha (Simon) Pressler, Jeff was born on June 20, 1971, in Sioux Falls. Despite the challenges of being born with a disability, Jeff’s unwavering courage and resilience shone through. He attended Sioux Falls School District’s Special Needs program until high school, demonstrating his determination to overcome any obstacle.
When Jeff turned 16, he moved to a group home with DakotaAbilities, which provided him with excellent opportunities to advance in life and form meaningful friendships that felt like family.
Jeff was always a sweet-natured, laid-back boy. He enjoyed McDonalds hamburgers and french fries, and he also loved desserts. Jeff had a great sense of humor. He would often chuckle when his brothers and sister were disagreeing.
Jeff’s life was a testament to the joy found in life’s simple pleasures. His love for family, the serenity of walks outside, and the universal language of music were his sources of happiness. He found delight in all kinds of music and cherished the experience of going to concerts, particularly the symphony.
Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Marsha Pressler of Humboldt; two brothers, Steve (Becky) Pressler of Humboldt, and Ryan (Lacey) Pressler of Humboldt; sister, Danielle (Andrew) Blandford of McLean, VA; seven nieces and nephews: Noah Pressler, Levi Pressler, Ayla Pressler, Avery Pressler, Liam Pressler, William Blandford, and Simon Blandford; and his dear friends at DakotAbilites, especially his beloved friend, Nikki.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Patrick Pressler; grandparents, Tony and Loretta Pressler; and grandparents Myrle and Lorraine Simon.
Jeff’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at DakotAbilities for the excellent care Jeff received during his time there.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Central Valley Community Church, 800 Cressman Trail, Hartford. The family will be present to greet friends beginning at 9:30 am. Interment following the funeral service at Saint Ann’s Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt.
