Leroy Lueth, son of Morton and Grace (Zacharias) Lueth was born on December 2, 1948 in Sioux Falls, SD. He grew up in Humboldt, where he graduated the last class of Humboldt High in 1967. He joined the Air Force in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Connie Stoneback on March 22, 1969. He served overseas in Thailand from the fall of 1969 to the fall of 1970. When he returned to the states, the couple lived in Minot, ND from 1970 to 1972. They moved back to Humboldt after his discharge where they farmed with his dad and brothers for 18 years, during which time they started their family. In 1990 the family moved off of the farm into Humboldt where he worked at the Farmers Elevator for a short time until he became a Rural Mail Carrier for the UPSP in Sioux Falls until his retirement in 2011.
Even though he battled with illness for the last 20 years, he never complained and when asked how he was doing, his simple response was, “Good, Good”. His ten grandchildren were the apples of his eye! Some of his favorite past times were following their activities, watching old westerns and listening to country music. He also enjoyed going to Humboldt for some coffee and conversation. Everyone knew him by his infectious laugh.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Connie, three children and their spouses: Dan and Tammy Lueth (Hartford), Amy and Al Nobles (Montgomery Ill), Heidi and Shannon Mikuska (Platte); Ten grandchildren, Anthony (wife Lexy), Jordon, Amanda (fiancé Mitch), Jenna, Alex, Nick, Alexys (fiancé Nathan), Quincy, Jozlyn and Cade, brother Charles (Linda) Humboldt, sister Carolyn Anderson, Hartford, sister -in-law Marlys, Sioux Falls, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Melvin and Dale.
