For the first time since 2019, the West Central Middle School Band held an in-person concert on Tuesday, March 23. The audience was welcomed by West Central’s Director of Bands, Danny Eye, who was thrilled to be able to have a live audience for the band students.
Sixth graders played “Redhawk,” “Continental Divide,” and “Creepy Crawlies.” Seventh graders played “Flaming Arrow,” “Incantation and Ritual,” and “Tribal Drums.” Eight graders played “Avenger,” “The Lightning Spirit” and “Afterburn.”
In addition to the concert, students were recognized for being selected for All-State Band. Seventh grader Madison Empey is the very first West Central seventh grader to try out and to be selected not only for All-State Band but also for All-State Jazz Band. Eighth graders Andie Ingalls and Maya Van Hyfte were also honored with an All-State Band selection.
