This year the West Central Booster Club held their first golf tournament since 2018 on Saturday, July 24, in hopes to continue it annually.
West Central Booster Club member Annie Bettcher confirmed it was a great turnout with 20 teams of 4, with a total of 80 players.
Bettcher explained every participant received a door prize worth a minimum of $20 for participating. Along with the door prizes, there were three “big” prizes to give away, Bettcher informed. The three big prizes were a 55-inch TV, a $100 meat bundle from Sunshine and a $150 Odyssey putter.
This golf tournament was held to raise money for all West Central athletic programs, Bettcher explained. “The money raised goes to Booster Club to support all athletic programs. The Booster Club uses funds to assist with the cost of things like uniforms, camps, equipment, banners, media, etc.,” Bettcher said.
When asked if the golf tournament was a success and wanted to do one next year, Bettcher said, “Yes and Yes!”
